Elfreth's Alley

Elfreth's Alley

The oldest residential street in the United States is located right here in Philadelphia between Second and Front Streets, just north of Market Street. Originally a cart path connecting the Delaware River to the market places in town,  Elfreth’s Alley was founded in 1702 and has been a continuously-inhabited residential street ever since.  This app allows visitors to learn and explore its 300+ years of rich history while taking a door-to-door virtual tour of Elfreth’s Alley. The user can choose to tour the entire street, navigate by house number, or learn about houses that have particularly rich histories. Each home on the Alley has distinguishing features and a unique story that inspired the user interface and user experience of this application.
